Energizer rechargeable batteries for the wii mote?
I just bought a charger plus 4 rechargeable energizer batteries…. how long does the batteries last in the wii mote? Is it the same as regular batteries or longer? I had to get rechargeable batteries because every 5 days the regular batteries in the wii mote would drain….
My question is referred to rechargeable batteries vs regular batteries…. not on getting something different….
Rechargeables don’t hold a charge as well as normal batteries. That’s a part of the trade-off with using them. Nintendo says you should get 60 hours of play out of 2 regular AAs with games that do not use the on-screen cursor, and 30 hours for games that do use it. and I have found this to be pretty accurate. My rechargeables (using a 15-minute charger and leaving them in the charger twice as long, which does help some) gets about 75% of that time, except when using the Wii Motion Plus. That thing seems to drain them about twice as fast, while regular AAs it doesn’t affect that much.
You’ll also find that rechargeable AAs will noticably lose charge just from sitting around, so a fully charged battery will be dead in about a month even when not in any device.
